Pet doors are a great way to give your furry friend access to both the inside and outside world, but what about when you want some control over your pet’s movements? Good news – pet lifestyle specialist SureFlap has just revealed the first-ever app-controlled pet door – the Microchip Pet Door Connect.
Combined with their Sure Petcare app, the Microchip Pet Door Connect allows you to control the pet door remotely from your smartphone or tablet, as well as monitor your pets’ activity and habits from anywhere in the world.
Decide when your pet comes in and out by remotely locking and unlocking the door via your phone, receive notifications via the app when your pet leaves or enters the house, log and track your pets’ activity throughout the day and over time to reveal changes in their behaviour or wellbeing, set a curfew to keep your furry friend indoors at specified times during the day or night, and, share access to the app with friends, family or pet sitters.
Designed for cats and small dogs, the Pet Door Connect works via a Hub device, which connects the pet door to the internet. The Hub can be used to link more Connect products from SureFlap as they expand their range in the future.
The pet door utilises microchip-reading technology meaning it only responds to your pet’s microchip or RFID-collar tag ensuring unwanted animals are kept out, similar to their existing products such as the Microchip Pet Feeder and Microchip Cat Flap.
